De-risking Infrastructure Management Using Remote Technology

Infrastructure Management Using Remote Technology

Advancements in wireless communications technology accompanied by the developments in IT (information technology) have benefited numerous industries. Remote monitoring and control, a new type of predictive maintenance technology, is now utilized in various applications. Integration of remote technology in infrastructure management technology led to the birth of RIM (Remote Infrastructure Management).

Over the years, companies have become more dependent on their IT infrastructure. RIM is an ideal solution for IT infrastructure management. It is a blanket term used for various sub-services that are used for the remote management of IT infrastructure. Companies now rely on RIM models to provide cost-effective and efficient management solutions.

In recent years, market analysts have observed an increase in the use of RIM technology. As a result, customers are expecting more from the RIM service providers. They expect 24/7 health monitoring of the systems. Also, they are demanding a proactive approach to management rather than a reactive one.

Moving Towards a Proactive De-risking Approach

The estimations about potential threats and problems related to the infrastructure management model help in providing possible solutions in a timely manner. Therefore, it is important for the RIM vendors to provide proactive de-risking approach to their clients.

Proactive de-risking can be achieved by monitoring performance statistics such as CPU,  hard drives, disk, and interface utilization. In a good RIM model, the vendors should detect the potential faults and immediately report to their clients. They should also report of the missing patches in the system.

Monitoring and reporting of login and log out activities of users or devices is also very important in the process of de-risking the infrastructure management. This proactive derisking approach helps the vendors in providing their clients a stress-free service. Also, it will help them in building a stronger partnership with their clients.

Use of RFID in Document Management

Market analysts have observed a recent boom in the RFID market. With many industries opting for the RFID technology, it is experiencing a significant growth in its usage and high popularity among the business owners as well as technology enthusiasts. It provides high efficiency and cost-effectiveness to a process. These are the key features of this technology that have attracted numerous organizations to opt for it.

In recent years, this technology has been utilized for various applications. It has been utilized in the document management as well. In industries, it is important to manage the documents containing information such as health records, legal reports, and other confidential documents. Loss or misplacement of such documents can lead to unfavorable consequences. Therefore, it is important to implement an efficient document management system.

In government offices, there are thousands of files containing vital information. It is almost impossible to manage these files manually. It becomes difficult to locate a specific file that may be in the shelf of some other department. So when a file gets misplaced, all the employees get a missing file mail. To avoid such chaos, many organizations are implementing RFID-based document management system.

With RFID, it will become easier to identify and locate the file. Active RFID tags can be attached to the files. These tags or labels have become cheaper after the introduction of UHF (Ultra High-frequency) RFID tags. Implementing the RFID system will allow the workers in an organization to locate a particular file easily from their computers.
